Offshore
Opportunity
Offshore opportunities should be considered several
years when Iraq has an infrastructure for its country first. As
of right now, literacy rates are down across the entire country.
I do not predict offshoring becoming a part of business in Iraq,
however, Inshoring is at its highest peak in Iraq. There are
currently many onshore opportunities via the U.S. Military and other
private contractors. However, these programs are mainly available
for outside sources due to the lack of education and technology
resources available to the Iraqi civilization. There is currently
a U.S. Government sponsored program called Support Our Friends in Iraq
and Afghanistan, otherwise known as “SOFIA.” Some of the
positions available to adventurers include:
"SPECIAL INSPECTOR GENERAL IRAQ RECONSTRUCTION (SIGIR)"
The Department of the Army is seeking to hire highly skilled and deeply motivated U.S. citizens to work as civilians in such positions as Senior Audit Manager, Audit Manager and Criminal Investigators. Civilians will assist the Special Inspector General Iraq Reconstruction which has a highly specialized mission to promote economy, efficiency and effectiveness, as well as to prevent and detect waste, fraud, and abuse in Iraq reconstruction programs and operations.
"PROJECT CONTRACTING OFFICER"
The Department of the Army is seeking to hire highly skilled and deeply motivated U.S. citizens to work as civilians assisting the Iraq Project and Contracting Office deliver services, supplies and infrastructure identified within the Iraqi Relief and Reconstruction Fund.
