Offshoring Opportunities
Historically, Croatia is not among the top nations in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries that have a favorable condition that brings IT related outsourced work from other countries. Only a few of the global players like Siemens, Philips and Fiat have taken the risk early in the start of the millennium to start offshoring to CEE countries. The figure below is from a study conducted by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in 2008 and we can compare the readiness for offshore ability in terms of HR, Infrastructure and stability among the CEE countries. There has not been a single aspect where Croatia stands in the best of the countries compared.

CROATIA

Labor cost in Croatia is above CEE average that makes Croatia less attractive to many corporate companies who want to do offshore services in Croatia. The data below is from EIU, CE-Research LLP (2008)

There are only a few companies that provide IT offshore services and in the absence of suppliers big companies hesitate to move their work to Croatia.
