Offshore Opportunities

Overall, Latin America has been one of the fastest growing markets for outsourcing opportunities due to a comparative increase in their financial and political stability.  In November 2006, Gartner estimated that by 2006 Latin America would be outsourcing less that $10 million in IT Infrastructure Outsourcing and less than $2 billion in Application and Business Process Outsourcing. [22]

Argentina is one of the four biggest countries with outsourcing opportunities in Latin America.  Mexico, Brazil and Chile are the others.  Since the Argentine economic crisis of 2002, the outsourcing market in Argentina has grown.  Argentina primarily services Western European and other South American countries.  Because Argentina has a highly skilled workforce and their currency is under-appreciated, other countries benefit from using Argentina as an outsourcer.  However, the continued growth of outsourcing opportunities will be difficult due to a scarcity of available resources and an improving economy, which is causing the exchange rate gaps to close. To further advance their opportunities to be a service provider of quality IT services to other countries, they must increase their IT workforce to meet an increasing demand for services.
