Challenges Education In
order to transition the country into a global, information based society,
education system is very crucial.
Presently, the country still has high illiteracy rate especially in
the rural areas.
In
1990, only 71 percent of school age children were in school.
The main problems comes at university, all subjects are in French.
Moreover, training programs such as
secretarial skills, IT, management and accounting function are
taught exclusively in French. Government
policies on e commerce and internet The
GOM will have to reform laws such as encryption, privacy, content,
technology crimes, and monopolistic practices in order to participate in
e-commerce successfully.
Technological
environment is not ready for e-commerce E-commerce
and Internet can not be prospered without the ability to buy products and
services on-line.
To purchase on-line, credit card or debit card is the common method
of payment.
However, currently the commercial banks in Moroccan are not yet
technologically prepared to use this technology.
Lack of competitiveness in the banking is the main factor for the
set back in technology. Support
from government to promote private sectors Moroccan government has been under monopolistic practices for a long time, it still have a long way to liberalize its private sectors. The government should reform its business regulations and policies to help the growth of private sector as much as possible, by tax, labor, loans, and funding. |
