  • Finish Haymarket Revisited by W. Adelman
  • Read Chapters 2-4 of Pacyga
  • Read Chapter 11 of Howard Zinn's "A Peoples' History of the United States."
  • Class Participation: Be prepared to discuss your draft journal entries for the immersion week activities (you should know the significant people, events, and locations as well as their impact on Chicago and U.S. development).
  • Review the material for the PBS documentary "Chicago City of the Century" (especially the timeline, people and events, and special features.)
