An analysis of Brazil based on the Readiness for the Networked World model. Exposure to ICTs as early in the learning process as possible is one of the key factors in achieving network readiness. Brazil is taking steps to improve schools' access to ICTs, enhance education using ICTs, and develop their ICT workforce. Many of the organizations we visited are taking on some social responsibility to help improve educational access to ICTs. Telecommunications regulations and trade policies can greatly influence a country's readiness for the networked world. In Brazil, policies are changing to make it more affordable for the Brazilian people to gain access to ICTs and bridge the digital divide that exists.
