Network Policy

Within Saudi Arabia deregulation of network policy is increasing in order to support growth in IT within the country. The Saudi Arabian government realizes that if it wants to become a bigger player in the global market it has to have open network policies or it will be unable to compete with other global juggernauts.

The government has established the Saudi Communications Commission in order to regulate the internet among other things. The vision statement of the Commission is "Universally available, high quality and affordable communications and information technology services". The main goal of this Commission is to ensure that the country can be as competitive as possible in the global market. To allow for this the Commission has started aggressive plans to deregulate the network policies of the government and open the country up for communication in and out.
