Dr. Kevin C. Desouza is as Assistant
Professor in the Information School at the University of Washington. He
is also Adjunct Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering at the
College of Engineering. He serves as the Director of the Institute for
National Security Education and Research, an inter-disciplinary
university-wide initiative. He is a founding faculty member of the
Institute for Innovation Management (I3M) and is an affiliate faculty
member of the Center for American Politics and Public Policy, both
housed at the University of Washington. His immediate past position was
the Director of the Institute for Engaged Business Research, a
think-tank of the Engaged Enterprise, a strategy consulting firm with
expertise in the areas of knowledge management, crisis management,
strategic deployment of information systems, and government and
competitive intelligence assignments. Dr. Desouza founded the Engaged
Enterprise in 2003. He previously held management and technical
positions in a several organizations. He has authored Managing Knowledge
with Artificial Intelligence (Quorum Books, 2002), co-authored The
Outsourcing Handbook (Kogan Page, 2006), Managing Information in Complex
Organizations (M.E. Sharpe, 2005) and Engaged Knowledge Management
(Palgrave Macmillan, 2005), and edited New Frontiers of Knowledge
Management (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005) and Agile Information Systems
(Butterworth Heinemann, 2007). His latest book is Managing Knowledge
Security: Strategies for Protecting Your Company's Intellectual Assets (Kogan
Page, forthcoming). In addition, he has published over 100 articles in
prestigious practitioner and academic journals. His work has also been
featured by a number of publications such as the Washington Internet
Daily, Optimize, Computerworld, KM Review, Information Outlook, and
Human Resource Management International Digest. Dr. Desouza has advised
major international corporations and government organizations on
strategic management issues ranging from knowledge management, to
competitive intelligence, and crisis management. He is frequently an
invited speaker on a number of cutting-edge business and technology
topics for national and international, industry and academic audiences.
Dr. Desouza has received over $575,000 of research funding from both
private and government organizations. Dr. Desouza is a fellow of the
Royal Society of Arts. He is listed in Who's Who in Science and

Richard Howe has over 20 years progressive experience in information
technology at Fortune 50 companies. He currently manages delivery of
application services from SAIC's Naperville, IL, office to oil
refineries and chemical plants globally and to Transportation &
Logistics, and Retail businesses in the United States. Before joining
SAIC in 2000, he was responsible for managing and aggregating
application services in BP's downstream businesses in North America from
internal and outsourced providers. Rich graduated from the University of
Missouri with a BS degree in Accounting and completed an MBA program at

Olayele Adelakun is an Associate professor of MIS at
DePaul University Chicago, Illinois, School of Computer Science,
Telecommunication and Information Systems (CTI). His research focuses on
IT Outsourcing, ERP systems implementation, and Information systems
quality and Evaluation. He has conducted case studies in both medium
size companies and multinational companies in Finland and the United
States. He was the chairman of the 2001 and 2002 IT outsourcing
conference and the moderator of the 2003 offshore outsourcing panel
discussion at DePaul University. He started the study abroad program in
the school CTI in 1993. He has also given several executives
presentation. He has published over thirty articles in conferences,
books and journals. He holds an M.S. in Information Processing Science
from University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland and Ph.D. in Information Systems
from the Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, Turku,
Finland |
