Summary of the course:

An introduction to the concept and techniques of project management for a broad range of systems, including Web-based application development. Topics include resource management, organizational factors, project manager responsibilities, team building, and risk management. Tools and techniques for project estimating and scheduling will be presented. Case study and group projects. PREREQUISITE(S): IS 315. Cross Listed with ECT372:

  • A better understanding of issues that could make a project succeed or fail 
  • To learn about managing the software development process 
  • To learn about the responsibilities of project managers 
  • To apply project management concepts by working in a group as team leader or active team member
