Capstone Project

The capstone project is a quarter-long culminating set of activities. It can either involve an investigative study or the design of an interactive application. The investigative study should address a useful HCI question. Its activities include question formation, study plan, data collection, data analysis and findings. The design project should produce a professional-quality product and follow the user-centered design process. Its activities include formulating the root concept, user research, design phases and evaluation.

The capstone project should not be part of a project for another course. You may complete the project individually or as part of a team of your own choosing. Proposals and milestones may be submitted as a team, but you must submit the final reports individually.

Project Schedule and Deliverables

The project proposal is due January 22 at class time. In addition to specifying a concrete goal, the project proposal should include a detailed schedule of deliverables and milestones. At the minimum, the schedule should include the following:
