Each team will do the following:

  1. Each group will select a business function or business activity they would like to model. Examples include registering for a conference or class, scheduling an appointment, placing an order, etc.
  2. Focus on Chapters 2, 3 and 4.
  3. Plan how your team will do all of the work required for the team project.  Present your plan as part of the first status report (week 4 in class). Each presentation will take about 5 minutes, normally given by one member of group project. Document and track progress as the course progresses.  For the first status report, prepare the following, give me a hard copy before your presentation, and have the data available for each member of your team

     

  4.  Prepare a final  presentation (about 15-20 minutes for the presentation, given by everyone in the group), including a logical model, data model, and a process model Please give me a hard copy before your presentation .

  5.  Prepare a final project notebook due by the last day of class, each team will hand in one project notebook that includes the following:

·        Cover page and detailed table of contents.  The modeled business function and team members.  Make it look professional.

·        A double or single-spaced 4-5-page project report and a final presentation.  This report should briefly describe the whole project.  Answer questions like the following: What did your team worked on?  What modeling techniques was most useful?  Discuss this information in your final project presentation (about 15 minutes).

 

Part of the grade for the team project will be based on the presentations and part will be based on the project notebook (one notebook per team, due the last day of class).
