CASE STUDY: Group Project

Your group project is to study IT outsourcing in an organization. The study should include the following:

• What was outsourced
• Why was it outsourced
• Who was involved in the outsourcing decision
• What is the length of the contract
• SLA on the deal
• Who is the supplier
• Analysis of lessons learned
• Recommendations for improvement, including the next new thing.
• Recommendation for the case organization or industry

Deliverables

1.      One page progress report due in week 4. The progress report should include the following:

                                                               i.      Case Company

                                                             ii.      Contact person

                                                            iii.      What your group have done so

                                                           iv.      What you need to do to complete the project

                                                             v.      Who is active and who is not.

2.      Class presentation in week 8 or 9

3.      5 pages research report with references due week 10

Audience

Your audience is a group of “business people” (students) that will be making a decision whether to outsource a similar system in their organization or not.  They are looking forward to your report to assist them in their decision making processes. They hope that the outcome of your group project will provide them with useful information in their decision making process.

The rubrics for critical thinking are the basis for this assignment's grading criteria.
