Population

     The population of Mexico is about 108,700,891 (July 2007 est.) with 2 predominant Ethnic groups. They are Mestizo (Amerindian-Spanish) 60%, Amerindian or predominantly Amerindian 30%, white 9%, other 1%. The primary religions are Roman Catholic - 76.5%, Protestant - 6.3% (Pentecostal 1.4%, Jehovah's Witnesses 1.1%, other 3.8%) and Other - 17.2% (2000 census). The major language is Spanish, with other regional indigenous languages. The literacy rate is 92%.
