Set up Dataset
- Import the GenderVsHanded dataset into SPSS.
- Set variable labels and value lables for the variable Gender and Handed.

Chi-squared Test for Goodness-of-fit
- Use SPSS to generate a frequencies table showing the frequency of
occurrence of right and left handedness for the dataset.
- *Conduct a chi-squared test to see if the random sample is representative of
the national average, where are about 87% of the people are right-handed and
13% of the people are left-handed. Write out the 5 steps of the test of hypothesis.
Compute the test statistic by hand to see if it agrees the value that SPSS produces.
Chi-squared Test for Independence
- Use SPSS to genderate a 2 × 2 contingency table showing the frequency of occurence of right-handed women,
right-handed men, left-handed women, and left-handed men.
- *Conduct a chi-squared test to see if gender and handedness are independent.
Write out the 5 steps of the test of hypothesis.
Compute the test statistic by hand to see if it agrees the value that SPSS produces.
