Website Plan and Final Website
- For a final project, create a small website that manages
customer data online using an Access database. Here are some suggestions
for a final project:

- An online store that sells products of your choice.
- A library that loans books, CDs, and/or DVDs.
- An airline reservation system for a small airline.
- A reservation system for a dentist office or dog grooming shop.
- An automobile rental agency website.
- A wedding registry for a department store, or even a hardware store.
- An online art auction management system.
- An online site for the public to submit critiques for restaurants, movies,
books, etc.
- A gradebook for a course.
- A website for documenting calls to 911.
- Here are the specifications for the Final Website Project:
- Your website should include at least four Web pages including a
login page.
- The data managed by your system should be stored in
a database with one or more normalized tables.
- Include a login system for your project.
- Your website plan should contain three sections:
General Concept: A paragraph or paragraphs explaining
what your project does and who uses it.
Information Architecture: A diagram that contains a
rectangle for each page in your site and arrows showing which
pages can be reached from a page via hyperlinks.
Low Fidelity Designs:
Sketches showing the design of each page, including text,
controls, images and hyperlinks. For each page, write a paragraph
explaining the result of using the controls on the page.
For each page, also write a paragraph explaining the colors and
fonts that you plan to use.
- If you wish, you may work in a group of two on your final project.
If you work in a group of two, your website should be more sophisticated
and have more pages than a website created by a single person.
- Submit with your website a document explaining the significant features
of your website and why you designed it the way you did. Explain why
you think your project deserves a good grade.
