Website Design Guidelines

• Follow principles of good design:
   
  
  1. Use strong alignment (no centering of entire paragraphs).
      
  2. Choose a consistant font and color scheme for the entire website.
      
  3. Use strong contrast (if you use different fonts on the same page, make them obviously different).
      
  4. Don't use overly large fonts (unless you are designing for accessability or for children).
  
  
• There is almost always an exception.
   
• Just because you can does not mean that you should.
   
• It is impossible to please everyone.
   
• When designing a website, keep in mind aesthetics, usability and functionality.
   
• Stay on top of Web standards.
   
• Designers should seek crossover experience.
   
• Be aware of the total weight (kilobytes) of each page in your site.
   
• Users are the ultimate judge.
