IMP Mission

The mission of the Intelligent Multimedia Processing (IMP) lab an the Medical Imaging Informatics Lab is to 1) create new data mining and computer vision approaches and cost effective solutions through  research projects and technology transfers to businesses and organizations and 2) nurture new generation of researchers. The labs focus on integrative and collaborative interdisciplinary research, including but not limited to medical informatics, homeland security, and urban studies. Eight faculty members, over 60 undergraduate students, 12 masters' students, and 5 PhD student are affiliated with the labs. The research of the labs has been funded by National Science Foundation and MacArthur Foundation; among collaborators on these grants are DePaul College of Commerce, Northwestern University and University of Chicago.
