IEEE Workshop on Data Mining in Medicine 2007 (DMMed ‘07)
http://facweb.cs.depaul.edu/research/vc/DMMed07/
In conjunction with IEEE International Conference in Data Mining (ICDM’07)
Call for Papers
In order to fully utilize the tremendous amount of medical data to the benefit of both patients and health care workers, there is an immediate need to develop methods for efficient data mining in the medical field. The application of data mining can facilitate computer-aided diagnosis and evidence-based medicine through quantitative evaluations of patient data. Furthermore, data mining methods need to be tailored to take into account both the unstructured and heterogeneous nature of medical data, as well as privacy and security issues mandated by HIPAA.
The Data Mining in Medicine Workshop will provide a forum to identify the current challenges in medical data mining, present the state-of-the art practice in the field, and offer directions for successful data mining techniques as applied to medical data.
Papers are
invited (but not limited) to the following topics of interest:
* Evidence-based medicine
* Predictive medical data mining
* Medical image processing
* Temporal data mining
* Radiology structured-reporting
* Medical data mining using ontologies
* Information visualization
* HIPAA compliance data mining
