IT 398/599 Topics in Global IT -- CDM Japan
Assignment #3 (due 1/23 (Fri))
Overview:
This assignment is to create an online journal of the trip, with
photos/videos you took during the trip. But note that the journal should
be academic, in that it should contain your reflections on what you
learned from the company visits and what you experienced about the Japanese
culture. You may do this assignment after the
trip, or by blogging during the trip (although you might be busy, thus not have
time to do so during the trip).
Also, there will be PRIZES for the best journals!!.
We will view each other's journals, and vote for the best one. A
prize will be given to the top 3 winners.
Specifics:
- Make an entry for at least 2/3 of the days in the trip (i.e., >= 8
days), if not every day. An entry does not have to
be very long, but must include the following:
- Briefly describe what you did (i.e., activities of the day(s)).
- If you visited a company or companies, describe what took
place during the visit(s), and write what you learned. In
particular, if you asked questions (especially those which you had
prepared before the trip, in the 2nd assignment), describe the responses
you received, and further expand with your reactions or comments to the
responses.
- If you did any cultural activities (including visits to anime
museums or game arcades as well as temples/shrines), describe your
experience.
- Anything special to note for the day(s) -- for
example, food you ate (or attempted), and
funny/interesting/weird/awe-inspiring things you observed/noticed (of
people, signs, actions by the group members, etc.).
- Also, include photos or some visual elements in every entry.
- Post your journal somewhere publicly accessible. You can choose
any media of your choice -- e.g. personal web site, a site hosted by an
Internet Provider -- as long as it is accessible from other members in the
group.
Deliverables:
An URL of the site, or an instruction to access your journal, to be typed in
in the COLWEB Assign #3 submission box.
Grading:
This assignment is worth 10 points.
