- Namco
We didn't take
many pictures there... (it was our first day of company
visits...) And of course we weren't allowed to take
pictures in the development room. Just a couple of photos from outside, their Yokohama Creative Center
building. The Ace Combat development team works there.
The tour was GREAT. They gave us the most comprehensive explanation on
game development. We learned A LOT. Also I deeply appreciate that they accepted our visit -- As
they said, "This is a very rare occasion." [see in a

- TohokuShinsha (TFC) --
visit schedule
Photos taken at Omnibus Japan, a subsidiary of TFC. Their
screening room is called "Sofia", named after Sofia Coppola, who
produced and directed the movie "Lost in Translation". She did the first
screening of the film in that room.
TFC seems very innovative and uses state-of-the-art technologies. As
they said, "There is nothing we cannot do in special effects". Quite
international staff too. They are doing lots of business with Hollywood.
I was very, very impressed. [see in a

- Bandai Visual
Home
of Gundam. Nice people. Nice products. We learned a lot
about the business side of animation (or more precisely, "Japanese Anime" or "Japanimation"). [see in a

- Microsoft Japan Xbox --
visit schedule
They gave us an extensive tour.
They talked to us about so, so many things!! They are very savvy too, I
thought (as you would expect from Microsoft).
I was quite surprised to see the special guest --
Mr. Yoichi Okamoto from
Game Republic. He is a huge
icon in the gaming industry. He developed many popular titles such as
Street Fighter II. I just found a
recent news
on his company's future plan for Xbox 360 platform. [see in a

- Ghibli Museum
Anime
producer Hayao Miyazaki's museum. It seems these days with the
world-wide popularity of Japanese anime's, this Ghibli Museum is often listed
in the travel guidebooks on Japan.
I bought a stuffed Totoro, and was very happy :-) [see in a

- Kyoto Seika University, Manga (Comic Arts)
department
They didn't seem to be as prepared
as other companies we visited. But hey, the thought was there (on my
part). [see in a
