Call for Papers


Time and Place

The Seventh International Conference on Marketing and Development (ICMD-7) will be held in Legon, Accra, Ghana from January 5 to 8, 2000. The Conference will be hosted in Accra, Ghana by the School of Administration, University of Ghana.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Association for Consumer Research, the Journal of Macromarketing, and the International Society for Marketing and Development.

Conference Objectives

This 7th annual conference is titled Marketing and Development Challenges in the 21st Century.

Following the past successful conferences of the International Society for Marketing and Development (ISMD) in Turkey, Hungary, India, Costa Rica, China and Romania, this will be our first conference on the continent of Africa. The purpose of the conference is to promote and strengthen the international exchange of ideas among academics, practitioners, international agency representatives and policy makers from developing, emerging and developed countries on marketing and development.

The conference theme is the role of marketing in the development of emerging and market economies including Africa's marketing and development challenges and practices in the new millennium.

New to this conference are a Doctoral Seminar preceding the conference, and post-conference research opportunities for participants.

Deadlines

Deadline for paper and special session submission is April 19, 1999.
