Computer Gaming and Animation in Japan

In the fall quarter, undergraduate students register for IT 398 - Topics in Global Information Technology, taught by Noriko Tomuro. This fulfills the JYEL requirement. Graduate students register for IT 599 - Topics in Global Information Technology. This pre-trip course (IT 398/599) provides an overview of the gaming, motion graphics, and animation industries in Japan and addresses issues related to globalization and localization.

In the winter quarter, undergraduate students register for ANI 390/MOL 398 - Topics in Animation, taught by Shiro Akiyoshi. This post-trip course (ANI 390/MOL 398) meets 4 times throughout the winter quarter and includes discussion of experiences in Japan and presentations of the final project. Graduate students attend one (the final) meeting to present their final projects.
