Computer Gaming and Animation in Japan

This program offers students a unique opportunity to learn/observe first-hand the practices of Japanese game, animation, and motion graphics development. A 2-week trip to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nagoya takes students to visit several gaming, animation and motion graphics companies in Japan. Through touring the studios and meeting with the developers and managers, students will learn the characteristics and practices of Japanese gaming, animation, and motion graphics industries. Throughout the trip, students learn about the culture of Japan and how it is reflected in Japanese computer/video games, animation films, and motion graphics.

The trip will be led by:
Noriko Tomuro (tomuro@cs.depaul.edu)
Shiro Akiyoshi (sakiyosh@cdm.depaul.edu)

Brian Schrank(bschrank@cdm.depaul.edu) will also participate as a Game Advisor.
