Setting up your Student Account to do Web Pages

Your site address will be students.depaul.edu/~youruserID

Essentially you need to do the following:

  1. You need your student account. This you got as a new student. If you have forgotten your password you can get it from sthe student ID offices.
  2. Contact ID services and request a WEBSPACE account on students.depaul.edu. That is, unless you request a webspace account, all they will give you is an e-mail account. Do this right away – it sometimes takes them a few hours to over a day to get it set up. Also they can sometimes get busy around the beginning of a quarter.
  3. You need to consult and follow carefully the directions at Student Account Set Up There materials are very helpful.
  4. Download SSH. This is what you use to transfer files from your local computer to your condor web page account. For ease instead of the link to SSH which IS - Depaul suggests under 2-b on their Tips page, I recommend this SSH. Simply agree to run when presented with popups. It should download and install automatically to your computer. Then follow carefully the following carefully:
