Welcome  to IT 130

L. Edward Allemand, Ph.D., Instructor

Here are some things you can do to get ready for the course.

  1. Campus Connect Userid and Password: Be sure you have your Campus Connect userid and password. You should have received these from the Student ID office or as part of your enrollment. Student ID offices are in the Student Center in LPC or downtown at 1 East Jackson BLvd 9th Fl.
  2. OnLine Version of the Course: Our course has all its materials on line including assignments, grades, content etc.    Go to http://d2l.depaul.edu.  Login using your Campus Connect Userid and Password. You will find this course listed as one of you are registered courses. Click on it and look around. Go to the navigation bar at the top and click on Content, Check Lists, Drop Box, Grades.  Note on the On Line office hours mentioned in some of the course materials. Scribblar is no longer making its system available in the amount that we need for free. So all office hours are in person in the Classroom after class.
  3. Our classroom may be equipped with computers and thus be a lab classroom, at least for some classes. Some of these lab classrooms belong to the CDM and so you need a CDM account as well as your Campus Connection. Go to the http://cdm.depaul.edu site, click on MyCDM and follow instructions for setting up your CDM account.
  4.  Lab computers and all De Paul Computers do not store your work. SoooooooVIP: Purchase a "flash drive" -- a small USB device that plugs into a USB port You use it to transport your work from you classroom computer to your home computer. You cannot save work on the classroom computers.   Don't spend more than between $10 and $15.  The smallest is all you need.
