Midterm Exam

The exam is worth 40 points (20% of class grade). I write the exam with the expectation that it can be completed in one hour, but anyone may use up to two hours to complete it. In-class students may choose to use the rest of the time working on their team projects.

Coverage

All topics presented and discussed through week 4. The web pages provide an outline of these topics. The exercises in the book (chapters 1-4) are excellent study questions. I may even choose a few exercises for test questions.

Format

• Approximately 5 multiple choice (1 point each).
• Approximately 10 short-answer questions (2 points each), which can typically be answered with a sentence or two.
• Approximately 3 Extended-answer questions (4 or 5 points each), which can typically be answered with a paragraph.

Be prepared to explain strengths, weaknesses and appropriateness of the various principles and methods discussed and used in class.

DL students may choose to take this exam in class on Wednesday October 4. All DL students must take the exam by Tuesday October 11.
