Final Exam

The exam is comprehensive but emphasizes material covered since the midterm exam. The course schedule provides a good outline of this content.

The format of the exam will be similar to that of the midterm. However, there will be a greater emphasis on conceptual issues, including the relative strengths and weaknesses of the technologies we surveyed.

Programming questions will be limited to Java Server Pages, java scriptlets and JSP directives. The midterm provides good study questions but keep in mind that we have covered database access since the midterm exam. Be prepared to write code that produces a dynamic list of items, selections or choices. The source of the list may come from arrays or databases.

Be prepared to explain code, possibly producing its output, for all of the technologies we covered. These include ASP, ASP.net, PHP and Perl CGIs.

The exam is worth 80 points (40% of the course grade). It is written to be completed within 2 hours, but anyone may take up to 3 hours. It is a closed-note, closed-book, individual-effort exam.

The exam will be held Thursday November 20 at 5:45 in 220 CS&T. Distance learning students may make alternate arrangements.
