Fun and Useful Packages

  • For LaTeX

A LaTeX-Smiley package . You've used smileys in your e-mails, now use then in your LaTeX files. LaTeX smileys are made in the same way as classic smileys, but using all caracters and symbols offered by LaTeX. And they talk too! To see them, copy the above package and these smiley samples and compile the file of smiley examples. Great to make notes to yourself while creating a long document.

  • For XEmacs

A multi buffer-list emacs. I like to have many files already loaded so they can be readily accessible. This means I often have a buffer list of over 15 or so buffers. To put some order in there, this package creates file menus on the menubar. Each file menu behaves exactly as the buffer-list does, except that you control which buffer appears in which file menu. There's even the option for key-bindings and variable settings local to each file-menu.
