Short Biography
Daniela Stan Raicu is an Assistant Professor at DePaul University’s School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems (CTI), Chicago. She established and is the co-director of the Medical Informatics Laboratory (MedIX) and Intelligent Multimedia Processing (IMP) Laboratory at CTI. Her research interests include medical imaging, microarray data analysis, multimedia indexing and retrieval, pattern recognition, data mining and knowledge discovery.
Daniela has directed several graduate and undergraduate student research projects over the past 5 years. Her projects were funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Argonne National Laboratory, Department of Education, and McArthur Foundation. Daniela has published numerous papers in her research areas and is actively involved in organizing different conferences and workshops.
Daniela holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Oakland University, Michigan, a M.A. in Computer Science from Wayne State University, Michigan, and a B.S. in Mathematics from University of Bucharest, Romania.
